A sequel to Fahrenheit 9/11 isn’t necessary.
It’s 2008, not 2004, and the minority of Americans who think president George W. Bush is doing a heckuva job aren’t going to be convinced by another Michael Moore documentary attacking him. Most won’t be aware it’s out, and those who do know won’t bother to see it.
What good will it do, then? The Left’s Rush Limbaugh equivalent wasted half of the first Fahrenheit 9/11 on spurious arguments and guilt-by-association conflation when there was ample solid material Moore could have focused on. Bush isn’t up for reelection, and although the economy is faltering, Bush alone doesn’t shoulder that burden of responsibility.
Instead of another hit piece on Bush, why doesn’t Moore focus his anger on Alan Greenspan? He can show what the former Chairman of the Federal Reserve’s disastrous deregulation policies did to - you guessed it - his hometown of Flint, Michigan.

1. Microsoft will suck up to you and pay you more than the majors get.
2. I dunno… blow and hookers you can write off as a business expense?

Yep. A sequel to Donnie Darko. Without Jake Gyllenhaal. Oh, and Richard Kelly, the mastermind behind the original, is not remotely involved. And the real kicker? His sister (the Sparkle Motion kid who only had a few scenes in the film) will be the star this time, except her hallucinations will not only include bunnies, but meteorites, too. Why, you ask? Because they want to bring Donnie Darko “to a new generation of cinema-goers.” Translation: they’re making a shitty sequel that shamelessly exploits one of the greatest films ever made in order to make a quick buck off teenyboppers who don’t know any better.

So let me get this straight.
A blog site whose staff are obviously fans of comic books decide to ask someone who hasn’t read a comic book in over forty years some questions about a particularly odd series created by one of my own favourites Ben Templesmith - the series of which he actually read only part 4 of 4. And he didn’t “get it.”

One of the biggest disappointments about Coachella Festival every year is the the rumored acts that don’t end up on the bill. Sadly, Pulp didn’t re-unite and The Cocteau Twins never did make up for the year that they confirmed and then didn’t play. This year’s sad “wish it were true” band was My Bloody Valentine. We had heard they started playing in the UK again, and an optimistic buzz built in hopes they would be at Coachella. Other defunct bands, like the Pixies and Rage Against The Machine, re-united on those hellish polo fields years previous. It seemed plausible. But it never happened. And had it, I’d probably be a much happier person today. Not many shoegaze bands from the early 90’s are still out and about these days.
But there is hope: My Bloody Valentine has confirmed US Tour Dates for the fall. Finally! I will be able to witness one of the many bands that I was too young to care about when they were first touring. I’ll most likely be the youngest person there. Now if only Suede would follow suit…
