‘Discipline’ - Janet’s Tenth Album

Although Janet Jackson didn’t actually go anywhere, her newest project really renews her fabulousness. Miss Janet, whom Guinness has recently announced as the most internet searched person of 2007, has struck gold with this album.

Discipline, Miss Janet’s tenth studio album, was released February 26, 2008, and shows that she is as hot and relevant as ever. Boasting almost a dozen producers, it is Jackson’s first album not guided by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis since her legendary Control back in early 1986. While Jam and Lewis are both extremely talented and very intelligent when it comes to pop management, Janet needed this album. It’s a perfect blend of consistency and that “out there” factor that works well on this album. She sounds different, roboticized and synthesized, and yet not so unrecognizable that we become detached from the dominatrix-dressed diva that we know and love.
